UMD CNAM/ICAM Workshop on Cuprate Fermiology
Workshop Organizers: Dennis Drew, Rick Greene, and Andy Millis
The UMD CNAM/I2CAM International Workshop will bring together a small number of researchers working in the area of cuprate physics to review the status of the new experimental observations of quantum oscillations in underdoped cuprates and to assess their implications within the framework of other experiments and theoretical cuprate physics. The workshop will feature invited talks and short reports with open discussion and a poster session.
Topics include:
- Quantum oscillations in underdoped cuprates
- ARPES in underdoped cuprates, Fermi arcs
- Neutron scattering in underdoped cuprates
- DW models of small Fermi pockets
- STM experiments and small Fermi pockets
- Transport measurements and small Fermi pockets
- Cluster DMFT and small Fermi pockets
- Theoretical perspectives of small Fermi pockets

The UMD CNAM/I2CAM International Workshop will bring together both prominent & junior scientists. Participation of students & postdoctoral fellows is strongly encouraged and several fellowships will be awarded to support travel of early-career scientists.
Workshop Features & Events:
- Invited & Contributed Talks;
- Poster Session
- Travel Support for Minority Students & Faculty at Minority Serving Institutions
- The number of participants will be limited to 50.
The cuprate workshop will be followed by a workshop on Fe-Pnictide and Related Superconductors, Nov 16-17 at the same location.
Application / Registration:
Individuals wishing to attend this workshop must complete an online application via the workshop Web Page.
It is important that applications be submitted as soon as possible in order to receive prompt consideration by the workshop organizers. Applications should be submitted via the web. In order to assemble a scientifically-excellent and diverse group applicants are admitted to the workshop by the organizers based on the information provided on the application. Applications are encouraged from all scientists active in the research area of the workshop.
We invite scientifically qualified conferees of any sex,
age, race, color and national origin to apply.
Attendance at this workshop is limited to approximately 50 conferees.
If you are accepted, please complete your registration immediately with payment to assure your attendance. The registration fee is $200. Each conferee who is accepted must complete his/her registration promptly so as not to penalize other scientists on a waiting list who would like to attend the workshop. Registrations not completed two weeks before the meeting may be released to individuals on the waiting list. If you arrive at the workshop without having prepaid your registration, and there are already 50 conferees, it is possible you will not be admitted to the meeting.
For the registration payment send a check for 200 US Dollars, payable to the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, to:
